OVERVIEW

Description

A man is sitting in his living room, but it's not your usual living room scenario. The living room is a trailer that is speeding down a desert. The man sees a nicer more mature looking living room speeding past which he makes a leap for. He continues to leap into new and nicer living rooms until he leaps into one where he meets his future partner. They hang out in their own living room for a while until they decide to make the leap into a baby nursery.

Outcome

The production design involved building four custom oversized trailers, four sets in Melbourne then, breaking down the sets and trucking them on the trailers 1600 kilometres from into the remote Australian outback. The location was 80km travel each way on mostly dirt roads from the nearest town. Off the main road an access road was created through 10km of bush scrub. The sets were reassembled on location in 45 degree Celsius heat, amongst plagues of flies. Each shoot day was 12 hours plus travel, enduring lightening strikes, electrical storms that shut production down early twice, and worked around rain (the first in nearly seven years) that changed the colour of the clay pan surface. The rain required vehicles to be towed out of the location. All stunts performed on set had to then be composited, cars towing the trailers removed, creation of additional trailers for the wide shot.
