NAB’s Share House stood proudly and boldly at Melbourne’s Midsumma Carnival. Passers-by were engaged by Pride@NAB volunteers, appealing to their adventurous nature and encouraging them to enter the big red doors.
Four categories of participation - friends, family members, partners, strangers – were designated with questions representing three ‘intensity’ ranges based on participants indicated level of ‘bravery’.
Example:
What does a normal day look like for you? Step by step. – Strangers, low intensity
What do you think we need to work on the most in our relationship? – Partners, high intensity
Close enough to create a feeling of intimacy and togetherness, but enough space for comfort between strangers, participants picked questions and shared secrets and stories. They considered meaningful truths about themselves while experiencing honesty and vulnerability in return from their partner. Experiences lasted for 7 – 10 minutes.
