OVERVIEW

Background

Director Warren Fu was approached by RCA records to create a fantastical off world reality where Doja and SZA reside. The objective was to create a visually stunning, sci-fi inspired visual that enabled the artists to showcase their impressive talents with complete freedom.

Idea

Create an intergalactic themed universe that perfectly fits both Doja and SZA's unconventional personas. A dreamy futuristic world in another dimension, where Doja & SZA live like goddesses guiding their love interests into a world made of soft colors, unique costuming and out-of-this-world CGI visuals.

Strategy

Generate organic viral spread using a video that looks incredible, resonates authentically with the track and gives fans a piece of fresh content to talk about and share. The video was produced & co-promoted with Playstation, which drastically increased the reach and impact of the overall campaign. The video also starred Grey’s Anatomy actor Alex Landi for additional star power (as well as celebrating the rarity of a pop music video having an Asian romantic leading man).

Execution

Kiss Me More first launched on April 8th, 2021 on YouTube in the United States.

Outcome

The video for Doja Cat "Kiss Me More" Feat. SZA had a huge reach, with over 310m views & 4m likes on Youtube alone. It saw exceedingly high levels of engagement across all platforms. It generated a huge amount of press & was heralded by the music, creative and legacy media as a benchmark for creative excellence.
