Description
While standing upon a thought stirring platform of Female Empowerment; the film travels through a simple route that ‘LG has been a part of millions of Indian dreams since 1997’. And what better could it be than to build one such story that everyone could relate to, in more than one way – emotional, nostalgic, inspirational or aspirational; the viewer should be pinched in the nerve.
Thus came the inspirational journey of a single mother, helping her daughter chase a tough dream of being an astronaut; emotionally taking you high – beyond just a brand or its products, through beautiful instances that everybody could relate to.
Execution
Planned to be a film that brings to light, the subject of ‘women empowerment’ and communicates about it in an easily understandable format; we came up with an emotionally woven long format digital film that revolved around the story of a mom and her daughter.
The film ‘The Astronaut’ floated across different digital media channels including – You Tube, Facebook, WhatsApp etc. and performed outstanding on each one. Once up and running, it did wonders throughout the year 2017 (LG’s 20th anniversary) and won instant praises, notable accolades & critical mentions by many including one of Google India’s prominent directors; within a few months of its release.
Outcome
Site traffic and consumer engagement was on a tremendous high, once the film was up and running. The film reached more than 104 million views within a few months which was the highest for a digital content in its class in the year 2017.
