Description

The film starts with Australian farmer, Robert Turnbull standing in the middle of a paddock on his property, reciting a poem he composed, about life in the drought stricken community of Lightning Ridge.

700kms+ north west of Sydney, this town surrounded by large farming properties has dealt with 3 years of floods, followed by the worst drought on record.

Approaching their 5th year of drought, these farmers, are left unable to grow grain and moving their livestock to other farms. With a loss of income, farm equipment and personal vehicles have been neglected and left unusable. Roberts poem tells of the struggle and his thoughts of suicide, we see hope and friendship in the form of The NRMA arriving to offer much needed help, free of charge. Highlighting how the NRMA go above and beyond in their corporate social responsibility to provide repairs & new life into the community.
