Background
People with disabilities are people like you and me. They do everything that people without disabilities do. But they are rarely visible in our society. With the "like you and me" campaign, we wanted to bring society closer to the lives of people with disabilities and raise awareness that people with disabilities are just like you and me.
Idea
With the popular recreation of childhood photos we wanted to showed the real life
in the context of their disability. We didn't want to reduce them to the moment of their disability, nor did we want to show how successfully they deal with their disability. We wanted to show them as they are.
Execution
We raised awareness with a popular photo idea that had already spread on so-
cial media. The detailed recreation of childhood photos.
The photos were recreated as faithfully as possible to the original locations. We researched the original locations and got the original dresses from the respective decades
Outcome
Countless people with disabilities followed the campaign and recreated pictures from their childhood. People shared the campaign on social media. Within two weeks, we generated over 3 Mio views in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. And we could credibly raise awareness that people with disabilities are like you and me.
