Description

Modern couples are growing distant due to work commitments and constant smartphone distraction. And the first to know we are drifting apart from our partner is the mattress we sleep on every night.

Based on this insight, Dunlopillo wanted to encourage couples to listen to their mattress and get closer again.

So we invited them to participate in an experiment to try a special mattress that can communicate with couples to help bring excitement back into their relationships.

It works with intelligent sensors on the mattress to collect movement data. The data is analysed to measure level of intimacy. If low intimacy is detected, it will send notification to either partner’s smartphone to suggest things they can do together to respark the romance.

The microsite registered more than 22,000 unique visits within the first week. 72% of the participating couples agreed that the experiment has helped bring them closer to their partners.

Execution

Here’s how to listen to your mattress

• We put intelligent sensors onto a mattress to collect movement data.

• Then, the data is analysed to measure level of intimacy.

• If low intimacy is detected, it will send a notification to either partner’s smartphone to suggest activities and locations a couple can go and do things together to respark their romance.

To drive our target to sign up for the experiment and listen to the mattress, we led our target to our microsite via social seeding.

Outcome

User Experience/Awareness:

• 72% of the participants agreed that the experiment has helped bring them closer to their partners.

• Participants agreed that the experiment has triggered them to be mindful of their relationship’s well being.

• Participants agreed that doing things together as a couple can bring them closer and help them maintain a healthy relationship.

Action:

• The website registered more than 22,000 unique visitors within the first week of launch.
