Description
The Children’s Fairs during the Netherlands’ biggest party, King’s Day, are hugely popular with kids. Traditionally, thousands of children perform in parks and streets throughout the country. To make a little pocket money.
Unfortunately not all children are able to participate in the fun, like children who are hospitalized.
We arranged an interactive live connection between the Emma Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Fair in Amsterdam’s Vondelpark. So despite their illness, the kids of the hospital were able to perform on the Children’s Fair, straight from their beds in the hospital.
Execution
We used PR to have as much channels as possible working together. We had a national news item on the Dutch television, we had a big news paper article and several publications online and on social media.
Outcome
Lots of media attention. We even made the prime time news on national television.
But most importantly: The kids of the Emma Children’s Hospital despite their illness were able to join the party, just like all the other children.
