Description
A key challenge of this project was to create a range of tickets that would stand out from the sea of pamphlets and printed materials that would be passed out during ‘Games’ time. In addition it was crucial that the tickets were iconic enough to truly and effectively represent the grandeur of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. There was also a challenge in the ergonomics of the tickets, the design had to allow for a security feature that was both elegant and functional to stop fake tickets being created and distributed.
Execution
Each ticket features the relevant sport pictogram ( designed by Someone) with a specific colour scheme for each venue, as well as an image of the venue, to help spectators reach their destination. The tickets also incorporate a number of security measures – a hologram, a barcode and the name of the booker. Every ticket could be traced to the person who purchased it!
Outcome
An Olympic record, 10.99 Million tickets sold
