Description
The packaging design needed to fit into the promotion idea. So to grab the attention of a tech-savvy market, the packaging was crafted to imitate the sleek and modern look of a brand new device.
Execution
The intent of the final design was to make book buyers look like they’d just stepped out of the Apple store. So a box was made to encase the literary device where the cover had icons individually designed to represent a story in the book. Inside, a manual was inserted to inform users about their book’s functions. The text was partly skewed to address Filipino readers about local literature.
Outcome
At the launch, the book received high praise from invited authors, guests and press, including Business World and The Manila Review. All first edition copies were sold on-site and the country’s largest bookstore ordered a few hundred copies to sell in stores nationwide.
