OVERVIEW

Description

Gestures of old Edo: This is the Japan Ad Council’s manner education. The aim is to pass down those great manners from far back in Japan’s Edo period that are almost forgotten by people of this unfeeling modern age. We call these manners for daily life “EDO SHIGUSA.” Japan is a small island nation; so people have been living in close quarters in urban areas for centuries. One of the virtues arising from such an environment is the development of a habit of helping out those you don’t even know—a bit of wisdom for going about social life comfortably.
