Idea
Break it. Slice, shatter and dice it. Do it with speed and precision. Just do it.
Highlighting two very different breeds from the same kind we tried to highlight the focus on speed for one of the boots and precision for the other. While still staying in a visual world that connects the two, showing they come from the same family of soccer boots. Bringing in the Nike of Samothrake statue as a reference to the brand and footage of female soccer players it places the spot right where it needs to be - with vicious, fast and precise female soccer players relying on Nike boots to play their world championship.
Execution
Done mostly for online placement and social media campaign this is long version of a project that was also split up into many shorter cut down pieces to cater for the needs of Instagram and the like. The focus was on having a 1min 16sec masterpiece that could simply be brought down to shorter 10sec social clips and loose none of its impact. Opting for a splitscreen layout for some of the animation made it easy to do square 1:1 social cutouts on the one hand but also (and more importantly) also helped us conveying the idea of "two variants from the same family". As Mercurial and Phantom soccer boots are connected in the same series but made for different specializations (speed and precision) we didn't want them to drift away too far in the animation. They needed to stay connected even though they might not be seen simultaniously. Relying on the very classical motif of the Nike of Samothrake statue gave a nice connection the Nike brand band also rooted us in a classical world, hinting the classical, iconic stand that the Mercurial and Phantom boots have with soccer players.
