We wanted the music to be earthy and folksy Indian, much like the indigenous sport of Mallakhamba. The word which anchored the music was ‘playful’. The original composition has words that sound like a feeling without any meaning attached to it, almost childlike. Another important note for us was to give a glimpse of the future - the music much like the film leads us into a marriage of the old and the new, with traditional instruments like Nadasuram going hand in hand with a more modern instrumentation in order for this film to become a driver in taking culture forward.
