Description
In 2008, we unleashed White Gold and his milk-filled guitar upon California Teens. He came. He rocked. And teens asked for more. But times have changed, and teens have less and less to sing about. The economic crisis in California has threatened high school music and theatre programmes. Could a milk rock god save the art programmes in California schools? The answer: Battle For Milkquarious! The most amazing rock opera ever made... about milk. Created to inspire a contest that gives California teens the chance to win $50,000 for their high school theatre, music and arts programmes.
Execution
TV spots were launched to let California teens know White Gold was back with even more music this year. They led the way to the full-length 20 minute rock opera that was hosted online. From there, teens learned of the Milkdonkulous Giveaway contest - a chance to win up to $50,000 for their school just by recreating a scene from the Rock Opera.
Outcome
Thousands of kids up and down the coast of California participated in the contest. Each competitor submitted video was hosted on a White Gold page via YouTube and received hundreds to thousands of hits each. At the end of the contest, it was Santa Ana High School that walked away with the grand prize.
