Execution

We created a completely new Twitter experience by turning users’ tweets into individual songs. We put updates and authors in the limelight, in accordance with Vodafone’s motto 'Power to you'. For 11 hours on March 30, 2011 German band Bakkushan set status updates tagged #tweetlied to music. With their tweets or Facebook comments, users became a creative part of the campaign. Within 5 minutes, the band would turn these tweets into original songs. Their creative process was streamed live. For every finished song, we produced a short performance video and shared it with the tweet’s author via @reply.

700 poems, aphorisms, status updates, greetings, shopping lists submitted by users64 tweets set to music videos#tweetlied became Top Trending Topic on Twitter (Germany)62,000 total video views on Youtube17,578 new Facebook fans for Vodafone 8,000 unique visitors to microsite20 blog reports – largely positive and impressed comments and reports
