South Africans are sport crazy, bar none. It’s our national pastime. Every weekend millions hoard to stadiums nationwide to support their teams. The fans who can’t make it to the stadiums are fans in their living rooms. And out of all the teams, none but the Mighty Boks (Springbokke, the national rugby team and winners of the 2007 Rugby World Cup) come close to the enthusiasm for the One Day International cricket match. Because it’s non-stop action, family, friends and work take a back seat for a day.
