Ad Council played match-maker for Valentine’s Day 2020 to promote shelter pet adoption on behalf of the Shelter Pet Project, an animal adoption non-profit based in the U.S. The campaign titled “Modern Love” leveraged two 7 foot digital video screens with motion sensors for a larger-than-life “matching” experience. The screens were outfitted with motion detection technology to respond to Tinder-like “swiping” motions of consumers as they peruse the most eligible pets available in their area. Consumers were able to interact with the screen, without ever having to touch it. The app also utilized the Shelter Pet Project's API to display photos/videos and stats about available pets specific to each location, and dynamically displayed them on the screens in real time.
