MTV was being launched in the Middle East and it would 'infect' everything in Arab culture. 'Dabke' in Arabic means 'stomping of the feet' and it is the traditional folk dance of Lebanon. Here, thanks to MTV, one of the dancers gets 'infected' into doing freestyle. The golden age of this dance was the 60s, which is why the commercial has a vintage postcard feel and is set against the ancient Roman temples of Baalbek.
