Synchronised suspension of broadcasting: Channels televised live RockinRio’s symbolic three minutes silence, spreading it into all households, and radio aired a “silent spot” with heart beats, creating a "reflection moment for a better world". In press and internet, “white blanche spaces” were the copy expression for silence. To give a higher impact to the whole moment, 600,000 white hankies were inserted in magazines and waved live at the event!
Outcome
Without resorting to commercial investments, RockinRio Lisboa managed to create a global/national sensitivity around the “movement for a better world”. High awareness levels and massive PR coverage unified public opinion around the project.
