We captured the hidden beauty of the vinyl cutting process in true cinematic style, through the use of macro lenses allowing for extreme close ups of the unique process.

The footage filmed resulted in two idents.

Ident1 focused on the beginning of the process in which viewers are shown a vintage Neumann mastering lathe switching on and gearing up to cut a new musical groove into fresh wax. A build-up of anticipation of a needle drop resulting in a fresh groove being cut.

Ident 2 was more about the synergy between the Neumann mastering lathe and a Studer tape deck i.e. the source of the music, with the edit going back and forth between the two analogue machines leading to new groove being cut.
