This device contributes to mother-child relationship during one of the most important moments in both lives, when they are really establishing a connection. With this innovation, mothers can keep the style of life our world demands, being a mom and continue working outside home. The cry recognition system is unique and was made through combination of diverse studies and exclusive technology developed especially for this device.

P&G is recognized for supporting mothers taking care of their children. This is a system that stays true to this principle, created and developed especially for the brand that is Proud Sponsor of Moms.

Hipoglos is much more than a cream to prevent rash. It's a representation of the caring relationship between mother and son. The device was created especially so that mothers could continue to give all of their love, care and attention to babies, even if they're already back to work.

The project aims to bring peace of mind to parents who wish to leave babies unattended while sleep. Innovative, employing complex technology transparent for the user and powered by a software and low-voltage ARM processor device, the Hipoglos' bear toy is placed near the baby’s crib and then constantly listens to noise in the room, recognizing possible patterns that may fit a baby's cry. The device immediately sends the raw audio captured in the environment to a server via internet to more detailed processing that validates the recognition and then proceeds to classify the cry according to one of top most common babies’ issues: discomfort, hunger, sleepiness, colic and the need to burp. Having successfully obtained a category, server proceeds to forward a push notification to baby’s parent mobile phone, letting know about the detected issue and easily allowing them to phone home, doctor or another parent using previous designated contacts.

Outcome

My Baby's First Text Message is part of P&G's innovative DNA. The technology developed allows the user (mother or other relative) to improve his or her relationship with the baby, and as a consequence, with the Hipoglos brand. The system was created and distributed for hundreds of Hipoglos customers. Survey with these consumers points to positive results, with happier mothers that feel more secure at work.

According to the mothers, being closer to their children allowed them to perform better in the workplace.

The next step is to put in place the device on the market, in baby stores and specialized pharmacies. Once on the open market, P&G hopes the product generate revenue and contribute to the company to strengthen its brand all-around. As much as with respect to P&G values, which for more than 170 years have meant helping mothers with their children, as well as for Hipoglos, the leading, trusted brand in Brazil for more than 70 years.
