Using the NBA’s biggest star players, we brought to life the seemingly endless catalog of NBA gear through dynamic banners.
Using location data and real-time weather data for every NBA city, the gear the player appeared in changed to match the current conditions.
If you were in Los Angeles and it was sunny, your banner displayed Blake Griffin decked out in LA Clippers shorts and a T-shirt.
If you were in Boston and it was snowing, you saw Rajon Rondo in a Celtics parka and ski cap.
The dynamic banners allowed for hundreds of NBA Store items to be presented for fans to see and click through to buy.
Outcome
By customizing the gear that we showed in the banner on the basis of the current weather of the city the fan was in, we dramatically increased visits to NBAStore.com and increased purchases of featured items.
Additionally, we continued to increase awareness of NBAStore.com being the one store for every team.
