We created a profile persona for Kathy on the exclusive JDate dating site, making Kathy a voice in the dating world, open to messaging and interaction from other active daters in the space. Kathy’s profile offered truthful, yet hilarious answers to all of the standard profile questions, setting the tone of Kathy’s satirical show.
At first, Kathy’s profile could be found organically by anyone searching her age and location on JDate. A week before the launch, Kathy’s profile popped up as everyone’s “perfect match,” with custom profile content for males and females.Kathy’s was the first celebrity profile that has been allowed on this site, so the dating community was abuzz. Women connected with Kathy’s dating woes and reached out to say “Bravo to Bravo!” while men sent humorous emails asking for a date.
Outcome
Premiere ratings were at 806,000 P18-49, beating Bravo’s goal by 92% - the highest-rated premiere the show has ever had! This online program was the sole ad campaign supporting the Kathy Griffin show leading up to launch.
