Description
Thunderhead is a cloud-based software platform that enables businesses to provide customers with a seamless and intuitive customer experience across all touch-points to their brand. The communications idea is a simple product demonstration. By turning the product into a heroic figure: The Thunderhead – we show how he can help businesses have happier customers by providing a richer, more engaging and, ultimately, more profitable customer experience.
In the film you see an awkward and unknowledgeable car salesman trying to sell a car to a woman he knows nothing about. Suddenly, The Thunderhead storms through the car showroom in a flurry of mist and smoke. He looks like a cross between a mythical Norse God and a superhero. His job is to inform the salesman and provide him with the customer’s details as well as use the knowledge he has to intuitively suggest other services / products that she might like.
Execution
Interior: car showroom.
Intercom: Tony Perkins to sales please
A sales assistant walks over to the counter and sits across from a frustrated 40 something woman holding lots of new car brochures.
The ordinary looking sales assistant attempts to begin the sale.
Sales assistant: Hello Mrs ahh…
...Ahh, I see you are interested in a diesel SUV?
The sales assistant hasn’t the foggiest idea of what the customer wants.
The female customer looks disappointed
Jane (being polite): No, it’s not really me?
Salesman: Can I offer you a coffee?
He gets up to get the coffee and walks towards the coffee machine.
Jane: I’m fine
Salesman: It’s freshly ground.
Woman (quietly to herself) sighing: I’m not a coffee person.
While the salesman’s back is turned the frustrated customer leaves and disappears among the new cars.
Cut to: Exterior car showroom.
THUNDERHEAD dramatically enters the car showroom and makes his way across the forecourt with a flurry of snow and mist. He looks like a cross between a mythical Viking and a superhero. A few smart looking business people spill out behind him. He dances and struts with his following towards the car showroom.
The sales assistant looks forlorn and shocked by Thunderhead as he holds two cups of coffee.
Thunderhead strides purposefully to the rhythm towards the sales assistant.
Like a messianic healer - he raises his hand as if it is going to be a powerful hit however he gently sweeps the salesman off his feet and picks him up. The sales assistant’s eyes roll-back and, trance like, he collapses into the arms of Thunderhead who is now holding him cradled to his chest like a baby. All around them there is a dense swirl of cloud and snow. Thunderhead starts to speak into the sales assistant’s ear:
Tony, her name is Jane. Jane Walker.
She likes convertibles.
Let me tell you her favorite colour.
Thunderhead now holding the salesman like a little baby. The sales assistant starts to suckle on Thunderheads nipples.
Thunderhead keeps talking :
It’s Blue.
19” wheels
Provide 5 years free service, and the leatherette gear knob.
Thunderhead starts dancing around the showroom with his followers; others from the showroom join in and follow his dance moves.
We see Jane Walker about to leave the car showroom.
The sales assistant recovers, straightens his tie, he now has all the knowledge he needs to make a confidant sale.
Sales assistant: Ah! Jane… Jane Walker, I know your interested in the Turbo convertible. Midnight Blue finish, 19” wheels, Black leather interior and why don’t I throw in the 5-year free service. Oh, and the leatherette gear knob.
Customer: How did you know all that? (Delighted)
Cut to exterior of showroom:
Thunderhead presses his bare chested body against the showroom window and gives the sales assistant one final look.
We cut to see Thunderhead (like the Pied Piper) and his followers dancing their way up the street with even more people joining in.
Endline:
Thunderhead – Effortless Engagement. Happier Customers.
