Description
The film challenges misconceptions about the Syrian refugees.
We open on a white screen. A common misconception is typed on: They’re Not Like Us.
We cut to Syrian refugees speaking to camera and sharing who they are: a husband, a brother, a mother who wants a normal life.
We cut back to white. Another misconception is typed on screen: They’re All Terrorists. Additional Syrian refugees speak to camera, sharing their professions: a psychologist, a translator, a child who hopes to one day be a teacher.
Finally, the last misconception is typed on screen: They Should Go Back to Where They Came From. Followed by footage of destroyed Aleppo.
Our title fades in: They didn’t choose to be refugees. Why are we choosing to let them die?
Followed by our logo and tagline: Doctors of the World. Indifference is a disease.
