OBJECTIVE: Raise awareness that eBay Motors has great cars for sale in your area.
SOLUTION: A mash-up that combines Yahoo! Maps API, eBay Motors API and a users physical location to create an engaging advertising experience.This was the first mash-up ever successfully created and trafficked. It leverages an IP to zip-code converter allowing us to instantly customize the banner to the user's geographic location. Since we are calling to several live API’s, success was dependant on the creation of technology to solve a huge bandwidth challenge. This banner was created to raise awareness, while presenting “hooks” drawing them into the eBay Motors website.
