Utilizing an oil-based painterly aesthetic we created 26 unique digital illustrations that were then brought to life in animation, utilizing 2D and 3D techniques to create drama-filled slow-motion tableaus. A creative compositing approach combined elements and heightened the sense of immersion in the vast world of Enoch. The project utilized digital paintings projected onto 3D scenes brought to life through 2D/cel animation and creative compositing techniques in Nuke.

After the static painting was broken apart, projected onto 3D geometry, and supplemented with 2D animation, the compositing team gave each scene a sense of depth and activity. Techniques included animating depth of field, adding atmosphere, light effects, color adjustments, lens distortions, and more.
