Description

The History Channel created Un Mundo en Guerra an exclusive series that brought dictators and other 20th Century figures so close to the audience that they could almost smell them. Working together with a historian and a perfumer we developed a collection of 6 unique fragrances. Not exactly the kind of scent you would give your partner. But one that represents the essence of each figure, their environment, their habits and personalities. The perfumes were sent to specialist journalists and exhibited in large galleries in Spain and Portugal.

Execution

After watching the first images from the series and seeing that the figures were so real you could almost smell them, we developed 6 perfumes with the smell of each of the figures. Harsh, strong or just downright unpleasant smells such as those of Hitler that reflected the personality, the environment and habits of the figures. We did this with the help of a historian and a perfumer.

Outcome

The campaign was a success and the miniseries Un Mundo en Guerra became the most watched programme in 2014. The campaign achieved a reach of over 5,551,000, a ROI of 380,000 Euros, hundreds of news bulletins in Spain and Portugal in both traditional and digital media. Visits to the channel's website increased by 60.5%. We achieved over 2.5 million impressions on Facebook and over 36,000 comments, likes and shares.

But above all we managed to make the brand's promise a reality - the idea that history is made every day.
