The film begins with the iconic footage of President Obama dropping the microphone at his final White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in 2016. It cuts to a young girl entering the empty ballroom long after everyone has left the dinner. As she walks through rows of empty tables, we hear the words of President Obama making his final address to the nation and to the next generation of global leaders: “This generation coming up, I’ve seen you in ever corner of the country. You are willing to carry this hard work of democracy forward.” The young girl picks up the microphone, and just as she is about to speak, the film ends with a logo that introduces the Obama Foundation.
