Description
Instead of merely using the exhibitions paintings informatively, we wanted them to interact with visitors, creating a dialogue between the Exhibition's content and allow visitors to truly create the feeling of 'passing by' Paris during that period.
Execution
To develop its identity, different fragments of the paintings displayed were pieced together with the letters of the word ‘Paris’, creating 'topographic-like' maps of the city, which allowed flexibility for applications of different materials, sizes, medias; whilst engaging visitors to view the exhibition as if 'passing by' Paris during that time period, and viewing its myriad perspectives — each one a key part in its formation.
Outcome
The museum perceived very positive feedback from visitors, whose comments praised the identity, whilst attendance of the exhibition was very strong in comparison with its other current exhibitions.
