Description
The Skopje Jazz Festival has always had very high standards in terms of design, but this year we wanted to create something remarkable and memorable in order to attract bigger audience at the festival and also bring jazz music closer to the target. The key objective was to incorporate jazz music in the design, so that the design literally plays jazz music throughout the city.
Execution
Separate black and white piano key posters were created and placed on different locations on the walls in the capital city. Combined in different order they created different piano keyboards on each of the locations, "creating" music on the walls of Skopje. With Skopje Jazz Mobile App, the users could "play" music from the piano posters. When a smart phone user found 6 piano keys pattern the posters started playing jazz, and the user got a free ticket for the festival.
Outcome
The posters and the mobile app were a talk of the town. The social media was filled with photos of the placed posters, the users were talking about the app, and they frequently "played" the piano posters so that they could get a free ticket.
