Description

Each year, 1 million 400 thousand women in the world and 10 thousand women in Turkey are being diagnosed with breast cancer. And unfortunately, 1 of each 8 women is losing her life. The lives of patients whose diseased are diagnosed early are being saved. For this purpose, in order to increase awareness in the breast cancer and encourage women to get examined, October is celebrated as the "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" every year, all over the world.

For Anadolu Medical Center, which in the matter of breast cancer, is a leading hospital in Turkey, a project that distinguishes it from its rivals and that includes men also, is developed.

Within the scope of the project "Pembe Top Sahada" ("Pink Ball on the Court"), carried into effect in collaboration with Anadolu Efes Sports Club, the Pink Ball, which is an icon that has not been used for breast cancer before, was produced.

Execution

Photographs of the players with pink balls were taken for the advertorial of the project. A teaser video was prepared from the photographs which were taken and was shared on the social media accounts of Anadolu Medical Center and Anadolu Efes Sports Club with the #pembetopsahada hashtag. The pink ball has taken the court in the first Euroleague match of the season in October as Anadolu Efes took on Unics Kazan Basketball. Turkish actress Beren Saat has tapped off with a pink ball as part of the project she provided voluntary support. Special t-shirts and thousands of small pink balls were designed. Hundreds of Anadolu Medical Center employees have attended the match, wearing pink t-shirts. For a whole week, small pink balls were given to all patients visiting the hospital, as presents. Anadolu Efes players have played the game with pink shoelaces, in order to support the project.

Outcome

Following the event, about 50 news stories were published in the press with access to 18 million, equivalent to an ad value of 500,000 TL. 19 news stories were aired on TV channels reaching a total air time of 35 minutes.

About 350 news posts were published on online publications. Total number of news stories about the project exceeded 400.

Around thousands of posts were shared on social media with the hashtag #pinkballonthecourt.
