Description

Our idea was to use the space to showcase the products for sale, of course, but also to create a series of experiences that would connect customers with everyday appliances in a whole new way; let them try before they buy. Where else can someone try out a range of luxury showers before having one installed into their bathroom at home? Or take a cooking class from a Michelin-starred chef using a stove they’ll end up owning?

Execution

Everyone is welcomed like a guest and offered a coffee from the Bliss Café before cooking side-by-side with a Michelin-starred chef in Savor, firing up a grill in The Patio, or walking under a cascade of water in the spa-like Sanctuary. It took two miles of plumbing to supply 170 showers and taps in 30 live kitchen and bathrooms to ensure that every product in the store is ready to be tested.

The “Connected Loft” showcases the cutting-edge technology possible in a typical loft apartment. Comparative shopping suites, private planning rooms and customer service-focused “Anything/Everything“ bars are located on each level, ensuring customers and designers always have a place to settle down whenever inspiration strikes.

Private VIP events, product launches, exclusive product lines (like customizable 3D-printed faucets) and cooking classes combine to make PIRCH a place to visit regularly, instead of just when you need a new dishwasher.

Outcome

People spend on average 2.75 hours in the store, a similar dwell time as Ikea stores, and average performance is over $3,000 per square foot. This puts PIRCH sales second only to those of Apple and Tiffany.

The opening of PIRCH SoHo has positioned the brand as one of the United States’ top retailers, cementing its place as one of Forbes magazines ‘most promising companies’.

PIRCH is a trusted partner for many high end appliance, tile, and cabinet brands because they provide the expected luxury service and experience these brands wish to communicate to buyers.
