Tian Tian was once Singapore’s undisputed best chicken rice, run by founder Madam Foo and head chef, Mr. Wong. But everything changed when Madam Foo’s daughter took over and began modernising the business.

A traditionalist at heart, Mr. Wong left Tian Tian in frustration and opened his own stall, Ah Tai, two doors down – selling the exact same dish, with the exact same coloured sign board.

And so began a decade-long chicken rice war between the two competing stalls.
