Description

Set to the classic score Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Strauss, we chart in high definition and in super slow motion (400fps) a big moment in ten young babies lives: doing a poo.

It’s a moment every mum and dad can recognise, the moment when baby’s focus is on nothing but the task at hand, it encapsulates all the weird, wonderful, adorable and funny poofaces babies pull when they’re doing their business. We tell a story, from the initial build up, to the moment itself, right to those moments of ecstatic relief that follow.

It’s a moment that a new mum and dad may fear. Knowing that soon after the pooface a clean up is needed.

But with this film we’re saying: parents, Don’t Fear The Mess! A clean baby is just a Pampers wipe away. The big deal for baby is a tiny job for mum and dad.

Execution

As soon as the concept of Pooface was born, we knew that to we wanted to tell the simple story of a baby doing a poo in an epic, dramatic way.

And one of the most important elements of delivering that: the music.

The music, as much as the visual, is there to tell our story. So we needed a track that would build to a stunning crescendo, a track that felt epic in scale, and a track that’s synonymous with creation, exploration and big moments.

Because, for a tiny baby, a poo is a pretty big event!

Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra was the obvious choice for us. A tense, brooding beginning, a huge build, and a wonderfully cathartic and joyous crescendo. It perfectly matches the entire process of having a poo, weirdly enough.

We feel the music is what makes Pooface so great. It gives the footage grace, elegance and a feeling of grandeur which we simply couldn’t get with any other track. And, of course, all that makes it a more funny and charming film.
