The Mercedes-Benz Proximity Billboard directly reacts to its surroundings and in this way actively engages consumers to interact with it.
In doing so, the consumer can experience the impressive functionality of one of the most important security features of Intelligent Drive first hand - without driving a Mercedes himself.
An engaging, interactive installation that makes technology come alive - and a powerful promotion within the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive communication.
Execution
A short-range radar sensor, integrated in our digital billboard, constantly monitors the situation ahead. As soon as a viewer comes closer, the ad automatically maintains the distance. And illustrates in an interactive way the functionality of one of the most important Intelligent Drive security systems: DISTRONIC PLUS.
Simultaneously, a rear camera is transmitting a live view of the environment to the ad screen - making the optical illusion perfect.
Outcome
As our Billboard reacted directly to its surroundings, the interaction rate was extraordinary high (approx. 90%) with an average interaction time of 1.20 min.
Consumers even took photos and videos of the billboard, spreading the experience in social media.
