Description

The Quote 500 is the list that gets published once a year with the 500 richest people in the Netherlands. It's the Dutch equivalent for the Fortune 500. This campaign warns people that the magazine is coming out shortly and that every little bit helps if they still want to make it into the new Quote 500.

Execution

We painted a money truck gold and put the editor in chief (a well known Dutch public figure) in it and payed visits to a few famous Dutch people on the list, just to warn them that the magazine was coming out shortly and that they had just a few days left to secure their position on the list. All with the campaign line: ‘The new Quote 500. Every little bit helps.’ We filmed the promotion and put the films on the Quote website.

Outcome

The promotion was a huge succes because one of the celebs didn’t appreciate our ever so friendly advice and decided to start a public row with the editor of the magazine.

This led to more than 400,000 extra visits to the Quote website, 177,000 downloads of the registration of the promotion and more than a million euros worth of free publicity.

In the first month after the launch of the magazine, sales were up 28% compared to the same period the year before.
