Description

We leveraged the idea of the classic brand jingle to raise awareness, engage our audience, and create a song that would stick in your head. The original jingle, written by Barry Manilow and performed by Barry and Scarlett Johansson, served as the driving force and call to action for (RED)Shopathon.

Execution

Written by Adam Schlesinger (Singer, Fountains of Wayne) and Barry Manilow, The (RED) Shopathon jingle was performed by Barry and Scarlett Johansson and aired on a special (RED) edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live on World AIDS Day. The jingle then found a home on the Jimmy Kimmel and (RED) YouTube hubs, becoming a go-to asset for social media and press coverage throughout the entire program.

Outcome

The (RED) Shopathon raised over 28 million dollars, with 100% of the funds going to The Global Fund for the fight to end AIDS. Some of our partners were Jimmy Kimmel Live!, AOL, Youtube, our Agency channels, Omaze and Gilt, and Snapchat to develop the very first global filter for good to activate Snapchatters to trigger a $3 million contribution from the Gates Foundation. With more than 2000 press outlets covering the entire campaign, dozens of celebrities and the world’s biggest brands, The (RED) Shopathon became a global event on World AIDS Day, receiving more than 1 Billion social impressions and 6 billion media impressions overall.
