With clients around the globe, HCL needed a sales collateral that could instantly connect with senior C- level executives and simultaneously elucidate HCL's philosophy of going beyond the bounds of a contract to achieve greatness. To give their philosophy a universal appeal, we researched stories of iconic relationships from world history that not only did great work, but did so when the parties involved did more than what was expected of them.

Once these stories were selected, they were researched in more detail and crafted to emphasise the ways in which one of the parties went beyond the call of duty for the other. Rare, black and white photographs of these parties were found and digitally enhanced. These were then printed separately and mounted using special photo corners alongside the corresponding stories. To further add to the visual appeal and themes of the stories, intricate illustrations were specially created. These illustrations were then printed in special gold ink. The last two pages were created so that they could be customised before being presented. Finally, recyclable, handmade paper was used to publish the final outcome which was bound in a leather cover, stitched together with gold thread.

Outcome

The Relationship Beyond the Contract Coffee Table Book was created and presented to over 750 key decision makers from G2000 companies, including Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft. With a customisable section, each of the coffee table books is personalised by the giving and receiving parties, leaving a lasting impression. Without hard selling HCL, the RBtC Coffee Table Book, encapsulates and indirectly conveys HCL's philosophy to prospective clients.
