We wanted to create a specific universe, in which “unemployed” fuel-pumps hang around on a forest road at night, attempting to forcefully refuel passing cars.
This universe needed to be extraordinary and somewhat strange, but logical and authentic in and of itself; the story action-packed and funny.
Our goal was to create a mature comic-world, in which fuel-pumps look just as authentic as their real-life examples. The “faces” of the figures are composed of the regular parts of any fuel-pump; the nozzles serve as hands. The speech of the machines is restricted to a metallic rattling and electric humming.
