Description

Whenever pictures of environmental disasters are shown on television, it inspires people in an overwhelming way, having a willingness to help those affected. Not just by contributing money, but to help with their own hands.The challenge was to create and publicise a platform that gives people the opportunity to put this willingness to help into action.

Execution

In August 2007, the Austrian Red Cross and Ö3, Austria's largest radio broadcaster, launched TEAM AUSTRIA as a platform to support professional emergency services like the Red Cross during disasters."We are looking for people who are ready to drop everything if help is needed." Austrians were called on to be part of TEAM AUSTRIA through a large-scale Public-Value-Campaign.TV, Radio (Massive call by all Austians up to Austrian President Heinz Fischer to take part in TEAM AUSTRIA), Press, Internet, Freecards, Giveaways.Inaddition to publicity in TV, print media and the Internet there was massive news coverage on television and radio.

Outcome

The goal was to get 10.000 people to be a part of TEAM AUSTIA.At the end we got 23.000 people in the team.The overwhelming response exceeded expectations by OVER 100%.
