The stamps themselves are a typographic expression of Shakespeare’s quotes. We wanted to create a set of which each stamp had a unique feel whilst still fitting within a definitive style. The presentation pack takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s printed folios and tracks not only his life but also of the printed history of his works, written by leading expert Sir Jonathan Bate.

As mentioned earlier each stamp was designed to be unique from one another, using different typographic styles both hand crafted and digital. As well as crafting the typography ourselves we also invited a calligrapher to contribute to the set, giving it more of a traditional feel. The final set was printed using a precision litho printer.

The stamps and packs have only just been released upon entry. They have so far been very well received by both collectors and the public alike. We received national press coverage from the Daily Mirror along with online coverage from various design blogs such as Design Week and Creative Boom and online press coverage from The Independent.
