Description
“Ryusei-no Kizuna (The Bondage of Shooting Star” is a story of three siblings and the strong bond between them. Our objective was to create advertising that would strongly motivate the audience to read the book.
Execution
A series of six posters was produced and posted at Shibuya Station, where traffic is the heaviest in Japan, among others.
The six different posters were displayed in a variety of ways – for example, two side by side, ten in a row, etc – and thus “hijacked” the stations.
Outcome
The book became the author’s fastest selling and was the year’s bestseller in 2008. Japanese people tend not to read books any more, but many said that they were “moved” by the book. It was introduced by a number of blogs and widely discussed.
