Description

To illustrate the transformative effect of Audible audiobooks, we enlisted pop icon Michael Bolton, a self-confessed bibliophile, to rework and record a new version of his classic ‘Said I loved you, but I lied’.

This reworking hinged on Michael making a confession that all time-starved book lovers can relate to: ‘Said I read you, but I lied’.

The piece taps into the audience’s experience in an empathetic way as we see Michael in a variety of scenarios where the Audible app is commonly used, singing about how the joy of reading is something he misses in his busy life. As Michael discovers Audible and the power of audiobooks he reconnects with his lost love and the joy of reading.

Familiar Aussie personalities including the world’s fittest woman Tia-Clair Toomey, radio host Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and comedian Jordan Raskopoulos featured in the video and their channels were used for content distribution.
