OVERVIEW

Description

Allow the greatest number of persons to discover all S7 and Gear VR experiences, by launching the world’s first VR theme park, the Samsung Life Changer Park. An ambitious experiential program to demonstrate massively the possibilities of VR throughout 9 VR dynamic attractions created for the occasion.

Surfing, Running, Automotive, Travel, Music, Gaming, and Fashion: 7 millennials passion points endorsed by 6 famous French people recognized as experts in their field to show immersive and emotional potential of VR.

Execution

From 16 to 19 July 2016, the world’s 1st VR theme park took place on the esplanade of the François Mitterand Library in Paris. 8000 square meters of VR entertainment with 217 Samsung Gear VR Headsets available on 9 stands designed and branded just as on a real amusement park.

But there was more than just VR headsets for each attraction. To amplify immersion during every experience, multisensorial setups were added. For example at the Ski Jump attraction, visitors had to attach their feet on real automated skis that moved with the video flow, simulating the speed and bends. Visitors could experience the unsteadiness for real, and feel the wind blowing on their face thanks to fans.

After the amazing success of the launching event, the Samsung Life Changer Park came back in le Grand Palais of Paris during Christmas from December 16th to January 02nd.

Outcome

- The Samsung Life Changer parks have allowed more than 300 000 visitors to test the Virtual Reality experience

- 99% of visitors wanted to repeat the experience

- 95% say they have now a high positive image of virtual reality

- 79% had an improved brand image of Samsung

- 63% intend to buy a Samsung device
