Description

Re-design the Santa Claus Parade website. Make it user friendly and help promote sponsorship and volunteering.

Execution

With 106 years of history the Parade’s design needed an update that reflected the past but gave it a sense of modernity and fun. That meant ditching the usual holiday red and green as key colours and focusing on a wintery palette. The typeface chosen is warm, whimsical and inviting. As for visuals, inspiration came from illustrated theme park maps. By creating a unique illustration style we marked each Toronto landmark along the route with a cutesy character. This style gave the design a real personality that is now set for years to come.

Outcome

52,604 unique site visitors on parade day.

2,877 memories captured on the website and Twitter.15,952 unique visitors accessed the site via mobile.14,140 iPhone app downloads (#16 in Top Free Apps, #2 in Great Canadian Apps in Apple App Store).
