We targeted treeless streets of Mumbai. To drive home the point, we had various groups of volunteers including college students and other citizens roaming around on those streets, holding a placard over their heads to block the sun's rays. The message on the upside of the placards read: SAVE TREES
Outcome
Apart from the citizens, the event managed to garner support for the cause from a few construction companies which helped us enormously in taking the campaign to 4 cities in two states in the next phase in Feb-March, 07. In May-June, 07, when the heat will be at its peak, we are planning to cover at least 10 cities across India.
