OVERVIEW

Description

When you don’t have dandruff, you’re confident to show off your scalp – so in short, you’re Scalp Brave. By using a jaw-dropping form of hair art that shows hair and scalp in an original way, the idea is to empower people to be bold, brave and celebrate the confidence that Head & Shoulders gives.

Online sensation, Rob The Original was briefed to create perfect likenesses of our Head & Shoulders’ celebrity influencers into mens’ heads and present the work as portraiture, using their (remaining!) hair to style around the design to create a perfect likeness that would make viewers double take.

Execution

Our campaign video shows Rob The Original at work, creating portraits of Odell Beckham Jr, Sofia Vergara and Giovanni Dos Santos in 3 guys’ heads (who all have healthy hair and a flake-free scalp). The video shows Rob creating the hair art, revealing the details of his creations as we flip between our 3 models and the celebrity portraits. It then reveals the stunning, life-like creation alongside an image of the celebrity before showing stills, taken by portrait photographer Oleg Tolstoy, shot to add depth and realism to really bring Rob’s work to life and demonstrate the Scalp Brave benefit of being flake-free.

Outcome

It’s early days as we are only a few days into the campaign. We published the video and supporting images on Rob the Original’s Instagram page, reaching his 385,000 followers. We also tagged and shared with Sofia Vergara, Odell Beckham Jr and Giovani Dos Santos, who’ll post it on their channels and expand this to an audience of over 39 million.

After just two days with no paid media:

113,824 views, 26,852 likes, 17 press articles (including glowing reviews from Adweek and Creativity Online. The NY Giants posted this content on their homepage and social channels too.)

Throw in Youtube pre-rolls coming soon, the main bulk of support from our brand ambassador influencers and a live in-store execution and display of hair art at Walmart and we’ll take our influencers and their unique portraits to a huge audience across North America.
