Execution

The Scion Surface Experience is a playful multi-touch installation designed to immerse auto show attendees in the Scion lineup and culture, allowing them to explore the brand in their own unique and creative way. Leveraging Microsoft Surface technology, the installation is activated by a deck of eight Scion-commissioned collectable art cards, that when placed on the surface reveal a range of product and brand-related digital content. Flipping the cards over offers a chance for users to become DJs, as each card provides a different track to a song – drum beat, synth, guitar – letting the users turn the cards to control volume while spinning a custom music mix for themselves and their friends.

Outcome

The Scion Surface Experience is presented at four distinct touch points within the new Scion auto show space, inviting show goers to experience each vehicle in a fresh, new way. The installation has drawn thousands to Scion’s auto show environments and extended reach beyond the auto show floor through the collectible art cards which invite attendees to continue their experience at ScionAV.com.

Thousands of attendees got to see the Scion Surface Experience in action with more than 6,000 trying their hand at mixing tunes of their own.
