Otsuka Pharmaceutical has been making various efforts towards achieving a circular economy. As part of these efforts, they launched the sale of returnable bottles in 2022. This initiative aims to promote the recycling of glass containers, reduce waste, and minimize the use of plastics. However, after the launch, we identified a challenge where consumers had limited understanding of the collection system. To address this, we have decided to produce a video that not only solves this challenge but also raises awareness about the concept of a circular economy.

The music was created simultaneously with the animation, constantly evolving to match the animation's progression and vice versa. This process was as dynamic as a jazz session, incorporating various elements like sounds of tapping returnable bottles and blowing into bottles in sync with the animation characters. Rooted in the theme of 'reincarnation and circulation,' We visited Akan in Hokkaido, home to individuals with a broad perspective on life, to learn and have locals sing in Ainu language. The chorus in the work contains the word 'Ran,' meaning 'to fall,' symbolizing the Earth's water cycle and its eventual return. Our hope was that this song, part of the human cycle, would become a memorable tune over time for its listeners. To appeal to a wide audience, we engaged a beat maker, carefully balancing the theme to avoid becoming too organic.
